Gross!! It’s amazing we can even get these things hey! We finally (after a year of warning letters) caught NITS – sob!! I came back from Problogger to nits!! Despite all the shampoos and combing it out (husband did a marvelous job) they took a long time to disappear. Loads of washing in wet weather too. As for bedbugs, I never realised they were true til I stayed in a dorm at a NZ Ski Lodge. I had welts all over me – yuk!!! Ok, starting to itch, must think of something else lol!! Glad it’s all over for you now xx #teamIBOT

I’m on a wack of antibiotics and cream. Last time I got bitten I got staph. I seem to get allergic to everything. Sooo itchy after this post now! Bed bugs are the worst of them all!

I’m the only one in my family (including husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law who look after the kids in the afternoons) who’d had it so if they get it then I’m off work, no if, buts or maybes which would be a right pain! I’m hoping they ahve some super natural immunity or something on that side of the family! Haha. What are school sores?

The cream was awful. I still remember the smell. I never found out if it was proper scabies or not. I really did not want to know.

Yet. I’m quite resigned to the fact that we probably won’t make it through the school years without a few cases of nits, thanks to having two girls with lovely long hair! Lol! However I’m pretty vigilant with keeping the chances low, they both have to have their hair pulled back tight and plaited to go to preschool, I check their hair when they come home, and I only wash their hair on a Friday night. Sometimes I even leave it a fortnight between washes (lets face it, they’re small children, their hair doesn’t get oily like ours does) because I am so terrified of the little buggers taking a liking to their clean hair. I’d rather be judged for my kids having unwashed hair than deal with nits!

While I have never personally encountered scabies or bed bug, we have had school sores, chicken pox and nits. Horrible little critters nits, they take the cake for me. ewww!

I’m feeling a bit better now knowing it probably wasn’t scabies but UGH! I had no idea how rampant it could be until the doctor said they’re seeing a lot of it at the moment in our area and Finn goes to kindy and playgroups so …

It probably was! We have sandy soil being close to the beach as well and it’s the perfect breeding ground for fleas which is why we sometimes have issues with them, especially in summer when they like to hang out in the sandy soil under our house which is where the cat also likes to hang out. We have to be really vigilant!
