I was recently nominated by Jennifer at The Hollyhock Door to do this challenge so here it is!
I’M A MUM WHO …
- Thought for a very long time she would never be one.
- Had terrible morning sickness with both boys until 17 weeks.
- Got to 33 weeks both times and never grew any bigger bump wise.
- Had two c-sections – the first one due to breech and second by choice.
- Couldn’t breastfeed her first child due to latching issues so pumped for 5 months and mix fed.
- Had no problems breastfeeding her second.
- Is not naturally maternal and had held maybe two babies upon insistence before her first was born.
- Smothers her boys in hugs and kisses all day long and says ‘I love you’ all the time.
- Hovers over them on playground equipment due to their propensity to launch off things.
- Is always laughing and can’t help but giggle at things that she really should be disciplining (like the inadvertent swear word at the most inappropriate of times).
- Quietly loves the middle of the night snuggles she gets every night when the boys sneak into her bed.
- Worries about whether she is doing a good job (don’t we all?).
- Doesn’t like to get dirty but ended up with two puddle jumping, mud splashing BOYS.
- Would not be a great SAHM and works to keep her sanity.
- Spoon feeds her 4 year old breakfast to get it over and done with quickly!
- Dresses her kids in odd socks.
- Is not adverse to using bribes.
- Tries to avoid taking the kids to any kind of shop by herself. Anywhere. Ever.
- Lives on coffee.
What kind of mum are you?
(I’m supposed to nominate other bloggers to do this challenge but I am just happy to nominate anyone who would like to do it! Put your hand up if you are keen to give it a go!)
Linking up with Essentially Jess for IBOT today!
I’m a mum who had 2 natural births, formula fed one and mixed fed for a few months and is still breastfeeding the second. I live on coffee and swear too much and bribe away! We are all just doing our best xx

I’m not a mum but I get the not holding kids things. A colleague had a baby and offered to let me hold it and I was like “Nope, it will probably scare me and I will drop it”.
See, I even use the word IT instead of HIM haha.

Sounds like me Vanessa! In fact I’m still a bit like that with other people’s kids now! ☺
I’m a mum who is a little bit sad that her babies are growing up, but also kind of glad because it means I get to be more of myself again, just as I’m finding out who they are.

Oh me too Jess! I totally get that, I am sad to see them get older but I’m also loving it at the same time and like you said, having a chance to rediscover myself.
Oh LOL I hear you on the maternal thing! I was that chick who used to literally run out of the room if someone was passing a baby around. I DON’T WANT TO DROP THAT SHIT. As soon as I was handed one of my own I was all like, OK, this ain’t so hard. Only dropped him a few times… LOL.

I’m getting a little scared at just how alike we are Melissa! Only difference so far is that I can bake and you can’t! Haha 😉
I love this! I use bribes to get the girls to get stuff done quite a bit, I try not to be a ‘helicopter’ parent but find myself hovering when Cherub is in the playground, I would rather sit and create with the girls then do the housework, I had two c-sections (one emergency, other advised by OB), I had major breastfeeding issues so had to bottle feed both girls, I probably yell a little too much but I love them a so much more…oh and definitely drink too much coffee. 🙂

I bottle up and then yell loudly when they drive me to the brink! Haha. Then I hug them and say sorry and drink some more coffee 🙂
You sound very much like me! Love these answers. I also had a c-section due to Reeve being breech. I have only just become a touch maternal since having my son. Before that, I got all sweaty when I had to hold a baby. I got really annoyed when someone would ask if I would like to hold the baby. No thanks.

We are so alike Kelly, it’s a little scary!
I hear you on the bribes, Haidee. I’m a mum who strongly believes in the power of bribery, especially when you have a strong-willed two-year-old. I also had morning sickness for more than half way through. It’s HORRIBLE isn’t it?! Lucky they turned out so cute 🙂 #teamIBOT

Yes, awful! I had it equally as bad both times and it was just so horrid but I never took a day off work with it, I’d just run in the toilets and spew 8 times a day and then carry on. LOL. Love bribery though it’s not working that well at the moment!
I love this! Yay for honesty! I am relate to so many of these.

Yay Beth, soul sisters 🙂
Ha ha! We’re practically kindred spirits! Two caesars here too. And two rowdy, dirty little boys to a mum who loves to stay indoors, clean and quiet all day! I have learned to compromise:)
